5 Eyeshadow Palettes Worth the Splurge This Holiday Season

Ah, the holidays. What is better than a fresh cup of hot chocolate and a fresh untouched eyeshadow palette? There is nothing more satisfying than swirling your brush against new makeup. Let’s introduce the best rated eyeshadow palettes for every budget this holiday season. Each palette is based off of consumer reviews and makeup artist reviews. We will also look into pigmentation, blendability, fallout, and presentation.

  • MAC Cosmetics - Eyeshadow X 15: Cool Neutral ($65)

MAC Cosmetics dominates the makeup industry in their lipsticks. Less is heard, however, on their eyeshadows. This palette showcases a unique set of colors that diverts from the trending burnt orange colors of this season. It delicately brings a smokey pink neutral selection of fifteen colors. The palette maintains a 4.3 star rating on the MAC website. The palette describes it is best suited for cool toned skin. The pigment is strong and it blends out smoothly. It is best to wet your brush before applying any of the shimmer colors. There is some fallout with this brush, so it is always best to tap the brush before placing it on the eyelid. The packaging is simple, circle based eyeshadow pans. It is a rather large palette and not efficient for travel. Still, the colors rule the list. This palette is one of few released recently that showcases neutral and cool colors.

  • Too Faced Cosmetics - Best Year Ever Holiday Palettes ($49)

Too Faced is known for their scented eyeshadows and bombshell lengthening “Better Than Sex” mascara. Both of which, are included in this holiday palette package. The presentation allows for skinny palettes with a cute and chic design. The palettes are instantly easy for travel. This package maintains a 4.3 star rating from consumer reviews. Let’s dive into that. The palette showcases both matte and shimmer neutral colors. The colors are extremely pigmented, which is expected from the brand. They blend smoothly and easily. There’s no need to get a workout with this palette. There is some fallout, but not enough to coat cheeks during application. Emily Eddington, a beauty guru on social media, states that the best part of the collection was the bag itself. Though unsatisfied with the selection of colors, there was positive review on the quality of the shadows. Not every eyeshadow remained consistent in pigmentation. She recommends it as a gift, but wouldn’t use it personally. The video was not sponsored, so her review was solely professional opinion. Alas, the collection is cute and still maintains the Too Faced brand. For the amount of product, the price is fair and a great gift to splurge on.

  • Tarte Cosmetics - Toasted ($45)

Tarte Cosmetics is one of the lead all-natural cosmetic brands. They showcase hypoallergenic skin care, lasting lipsticks, and Amazon Clay eyeshadows all without testing the products on animals. The Tarte Toasted palette is cruelty-free and dermatologist-tested. The Toasted palette is a fall palette, featuring the trending burnt orange shades. On their website, consumers have reviewed the product a 4.8 stars. It features 7 matte and 5 shimmer eyeshadows. The product has little fallout and blends easily. Nicol Concilio, a beauty influencer on social media, personally approved the product in her review. She claims, “It was one of the easiest products I’ve worked with.” The review was not sponsored and fully by her professional opinion.

  • BH Cosmetics - Zodiac Eyeshadow Palette ($21.99)

BH Cosmetics is best known for its collaboration with Youtube Beauty Influencer Carli Bybel. The brand is cruelty-free and dermatologist tested. It is a known cult favorite for beauty gurus across social media. The Zodiac palette received a lot of hype, but not much professional reviews on the item. From consumer reviews, the product rails in a 5.0 star review. The product includes 12 matte, 12 shimmer eyeshadows, and one pearl highlighter. Without using a wet brush, the shimmer shades went on smoothly and highly pigmented. There is fallout which is expected with high pigments. Kayla Hagley, a beauty influencer on social media, reviewed the palette with flying colors. Her one comment was how the mattes didn’t match the shimmer shades, which poses an issue when attempting to use only two colors for each zodiac sign. The video is not sponsored, so it was based on professional opinion.

  • Morphe Cosmetics - 15D Day Slayer Eyeshadow Palette ($15)

Morphe Cosmetics is yet another cult-favorite for beauty gurus on social media. The brand is known for its highly pigmented, blendable, and affordable eyeshadows. These eyeshadows, similar to Tarte’s Toasted palette, are trending colors for the fall season. Burnt orange and red smokey eyes are in. There are a lot of palettes to choose from for the selection. Morphe’s affordability and functionality of its palettes landed it in this list. Krystal Clear Makeup, a tyrant beauty influencer on social media, describes the quality as “amazing” and “worth the buy” in her Morphe Holiday Collection review. The review was not sponsored and based on professional review.
