Models walked on air as they breezed through the store. At the end of the fashion week cycle through New York, Paris, and Milan, a Sunday afternoon in the Domain is least expected for a fashion debut.

Contone Clothing + Beauty Bar celebrated their first year anniversary on Sept. 24. Owners Alex and Jentri Quinn hosted the celebration Sunday afternoon. Polkadots Cupcake Factory’s baby pink macaroons and Tito’s Vodka lemonade mixers were offered to guests in the store. Good & Golden Designs and Johnny Cupcakes showcased their products. Complimentary chair massages (Roots and Remedy), free makeovers (Jentri Quinn Makeup + Skin), raffle prizes, henna tattoos, and more flourished the event.

The chosen charity for the event was Beautifully Loved, a charity that officially began in May 2017. Their mission is “sharing love for families affected by pediatric cancer and blood disorders through experiences of wellness, beauty, and fashion.” Contone invited the charity to the event to aid in funds. The company has donated clothes to Beautifully Loved’s first fashion show in 2015.

“We just happened to be the charity of their choice and we’re so honored. So, a percentage of the proceeds that we gain today will go back to Beautifully Loved so we can put on these events for the children and teens at Dell Children’s Hospital.” Mayra Tellez, a partner with Beautifully Loved, said.

This was not their first interaction with Contone. In Beautifully Loved’s first annual fashion show, they requested to use Contone’s clothes for their chronically sick models to help develop confidence in their own skin.

“They generously let us borrow clothes. The great thing about the fashion show is that the girls get to come to the store and choose whatever makes them feel good.” Tellez said.

The Domain location isn’t Contone’s first store for the Quinns, however, it is the first collaborative store that combined both beauty and fashion. Alex Quinn stood with arms tied around his wife, Jentri. “We combined a concept with my partner and partner in life, Jentri...We put together a clothing and beauty bar...We just put both of our passions together,” Quinn said.

According to Quinn, Austin cultivates a strong support for local business. Austin has been one of many stops for Quinn in his career. From California to Italy, Austin stuck like glue. To coin the event name, Quinn describes his shop as Texas meets Italy. Local artists are featured in his boutique as well as Italian and Australian designers.

On the beauty side of matters, Jentri Quinn took time in explaining her product. She described a lot of her clients had difficulty in finding products that did not break their skin out. Hypoallergenic products weren’t easy to find, according to Jentri Quinn.

The little products she did find weren’t worth keeping in her stock. She would hand them off to her clients who really needed them. To lighten the load, she began making her own products at home and eventually gathered enough motive to bring it to life. Her high-end makeup line offers vegan, organic, and hypoallergenic products such as foundation, a primer/moisturizer duo, lip gloss/stick, eyeshadow, and face powder products.

“We can customize foundation here. We offer a diverse selection with foundation that adapts to your skin tone. My best seller and favorite anti-aging moisturizing primer. It has a little bit of everything and has skin adapting technology, which means it adapts to your skin tone...It just makes your skin really beautiful.”
